Sleep. It’s 1/3rd of your life spent in unconsciousness. We sleep daily (or almost for some) but can you recount the number of times you were content with your sleep?
Probably after a lot of thinking, you’d recount one or two experiences when you were afresh and ready for the day ahead after a good night’s sleep. However, your thoughts would mostly fill up with those sleep deprived nights when you either couldn’t fall asleep or wake up in the morning. With the considerate amount of time spent in the activity and it’s direct relation to our daytime productivity, this is a matter of concern. As Arianna Huffington, the co-founder and editor in chief of The Huffington Post says, We are in the midst of a sleep deprivation crisis. And this has profound consequences – on our health, our job performance, our relationships and our happiness.
Surveys conducted by the NSF (1999-2004) reveal that at least 40 million Americans suffer from over 70 different sleep disorders and 60 percent of adults report having sleep problems a few nights a week or more. In addition, more than 40 percent of adults experience daytime sleepiness severe enough to interfere with their daily activities at least a few days each month - with 20 percent reporting problem sleepiness a few days a week or more. On reading similar reports, you might be tempted to say that the modern lifestyle is to blame for the lack of sleep which consequently causes this issue. Alas! This is not a easy cure problem, the NSF further reports that despite sleeping within the recommended number of hours a night, 35% of Americans report their sleep quality as “poor” or “only fair.” while 20% of Americans reported that they did not wake up feeling refreshed on any of the past seven days.
You may now be thinking that so what if we don’t have a friendly relationship with our sleep. Does it even matter? Isn’t it said that you must work hard to achieve your dreams rather than just continuing to dream. Sleep is a time of intense neurological activity—a rich time of renewal, memory consolidation, brain and neurochemical cleansing, and cognitive maintenance. Properly appraised, our sleeping time is as valuable a commodity as the time we are awake. In fact, getting the right amount of sleep enhances the quality of every minute we spend with our eyes open, says Arianna in her bestseller book. To summarize, if you aren’t content with your sleep, you won’t be productive during the day thus loosing all means of achieving your dreams.!
So, what’s the solution? Sleep Research Centers across the globe have been researching means which can greatly enhance your sleep efficiency. There have been various attempts at building sleep improvement products but they’re either highly inaccurate or require you to buy additional sensors to work properly. I realized the importance of sleep during my senior year at High School. With so much work and activities to do, I found it difficult for the first time to cope up with my sleep needs. SleepIsle is my attempt to make the world a better place to live. From zero knowledge on iOS development, I learned Swift, a language made easy to use while being focused on the problem at hand.

The questionnaire built using the ResearchKit framework provides a simple and elegant means of asking information related to caffeine, alcohol and other significant factors that affect the quality of sleep. Along with an in-app integration of these great platforms, SleepIsle also uses HealthKit to be fully compatible with the native Health App and provides sleep analysis data to compare time asleep vs in-bed. We have innovated a unique feature that use AI bot with machine learning to chat with users in a more natural manner. The bot helps you feel motivated and inspired before going to sleep, thereby helping you with sweeter dreams. The bot is also available on the Messenger Platform to try for free. It’s a bliss for entrepreneurs and innovators who are in dearth of inspiration where the real work is done when asleep.
